Their past, present, and future
王媛珍
Yuanzhen Wang
王媛珍今年九岁。由于九秋小学只提供学前班及一、二年级的课程，从2022年九月开始，她将前往榕江县读三年级，寄宿制。她非常擅长语文，很喜欢读书，自己最喜欢读的书是故事书和童话。她非常喜欢上学，说自己在结束九年义务制教学后，想继续读高中、考大学。她对于数学非常感兴趣，想在高中、大学中继续学数学。
她的爸爸妈妈会时不时离开家出去打工，目前她和她的奶奶住。她的家中有三个弟弟。
当问道想不想离开这个村子的时候，她说，她很想出去看看大海。
Yuanzhen Wang is nine years old. As Jiuqiu Elementary School only offers preschool and first and second grade, she will be going to Rongjiang County for third grade, boarding, starting in September 2022. She is very good at languages and enjoys reading, and her favorite books to read are storybooks and fairy tales. She really enjoys school and says she wants to continue her education in high school and college after she finishes her nine years of compulsory schooling. She is very interested in math and wants to continue studying math in high school and college.
Her parents leave home from time to time to work (mostly hard labor jobs such as construction workers) and she currently lives with her grandmother. She has three younger brothers at home.
When asked if she wanted to leave the village, she said she would love to go out and see the ocean.

Shanrong Wang
王珊荣并不知道自己今年几岁，她目前是一位学前班的学生。她最喜欢的课程是数学课，她也非常喜欢学校里的数学老师。她的爸爸妈妈都去广东打工了，她和爷爷奶奶住。未来她想继续留在九秋村，她觉得在这里的生活很快乐。
Shanrong Wang does not know how old she is; she is currently a preschool student. Her favorite class is math class, and she really likes the math teacher at school. Her parents have both gone to work in Canton, and she lives with her grandparents. In the future she wants to stay in Jiuqiu Village, and she feels that life in JIuqiu is very happy.
王春集
Chunji Wang
王春集今年十岁，读三年级。她最喜欢的课程是音乐课，因为她喜欢听歌。音乐老师会用电脑放歌曲，让学生们跟着唱。未来她想继续上高中、考大学，并离开九秋村前往榕江县。当被问及以后想从事什么职业的时候，她说想当医生，因为医生可以救治很多病人。她在家会看电视，最喜欢的电视节目是动画片《熊出没》。和王媛珍一样，她想看看大海。
Chunji Wang is ten years old and in the third grade. Her favorite class is music class because she likes to listen to songs. The music teacher will play songs on the computer and have the students sing along. In the future she wants to continue her education in high school and college and leave Jiuqiu Village for Rongjiang County. When asked what career she wants to pursue in the future, she said she wants to be a doctor because doctors can save many patients. She watches cartoon at home and her favorite TV program is the cartoon "Boonie Bears". Like Yuanzhen Wang, she wants to see the ocean in the future.

Fuyou Wang
九岁的王富有（右）目前在上一年级，他的父母都在广东打工，自己跟爷爷奶奶在家，家里有个姐姐。他非常喜欢数学，想继续读高中和大学，在完成学业后想要回到九秋村。
Nine-year-old Fuyou Wang is currently in the first grade. His parents are both working in Canton, and he is at home with his grandparents and has an older sister at home. He likes math very much and wants to continue his studies in high school and college, and wants to return to Jiuqiu Village after he finishes his studies.

王雪菲在家经常看电视，和其他孩子们不一样的是，她看的不是动画片，而是音乐节目。她说，她非常喜欢音乐，喜欢唱歌、跳舞。未来，她想读高中、读大学，在高中大学里继续学唱歌跳舞。她说自己也很喜欢语文，喜欢读故事。
Xuefei Wang often watches TV at home, and unlike other children, she watches not cartoons, but music programs. She said she likes music very much and likes to sing and dance. In the future, she wants to go to high school and college, and continue to learn singing and dancing in high school and college. She says she also loves Chinese classes and likes to read stories.

王自远的爸爸妈妈都在榕江县城里打工，目前跟爷爷奶奶住在九秋。当问到未来时，他说他不想继续读高中，但喜欢现在的学校，因为每天上学有很多小朋友一起玩。未来的他想要留在九秋村，和爷爷奶奶一样种地。他最喜欢看的电视节目是迪迦奥特曼。
Ziyuan Wang's parents both work in Rongjiang County and he currently lives with his grandparents in Jiuqiu. When asked about the future, he said he doesn't want to attend high school, but he likes his current school because he has many good friends at school. In the future, he wants to stay in Jiuqiu village and farm the land like his grandparents. His favorite TV show is Digga Ultraman.

今年九岁的王春秀在上一年级。她非常喜欢美术，学校的老师会教他们用铅笔画画。她未来想上高中，但不想上大学，她想在高中里继续学美术。未来的她想去榕江县城里当艺术家，或者当美术老师，她觉得自己的爸爸妈妈会支持自己的梦想。她最喜欢的动物是小白兔。
Chunxiu Wang, who is nine years old, is in the first grade. She really likes art and the teachers at school will teach them to draw with pencils. She wants to go to high school in the future, but does not want to go to college; she wants to continue studying art in high school. In the future, she wants to go to Rongjiang County town to be an artist or an art teacher. She thinks her parents will support her dream. Her favorite animal is the white rabbit.

王珊妹今年九岁，开学二年级。她说自己很喜欢画画，学校里最喜欢美术课，并说学校里的美术老师就是语文老师，在美术课上会画铅笔画。她喜欢看动画片，但不会上网。她的爸爸去广东打工了，并不在九秋村里。她说自己未来想留在九秋村，不想继续上高中。当问到她对当前的学校是否满意时，她说学校里会有同学欺负她、偷她的东西，但她不敢告诉老师。
Wang Shanmei is nine years old and is about to enter the second grade. She says she likes to draw and her favorite subject at school is art. In Jiuqiu primary school, the art teacher is the Chinese teacher. Shanmei says that they draw with pencils in art classes. She likes to watch cartoons on TV, but does not know how to access the Internet. Her father has gone to work in Canton and is not in Jiuqiu village. She said she wants to stay in Jiuqiu Village in the future and does not want to continue to high school. When asked if she was satisfied with her current school, she said there would be students at school who would bully her and steal from her, but she did not dare to tell her teachers.
